Healthcare
Public cover is limited for foreigners, so most buy a local private plan. Mid-tier plans with real outpatient cover cost more.
- Local private plan: $20–$60 a month
Residency routes
- Visa-free stay (EU, US and ~95 other nationalities): Up to 365 days a year with no visa. Travel insurance is required since January 2026.
- Residence by property (Anyone): Buy property worth at least US$150,000 (up from US$100,000 in March 2026). Permanent residence with a larger investment or after six years.
Tax on a portfolio
- Foreign-source dividends, interest and capital gains are exempt for individuals, with no time limit.
- Remote work done while in Georgia counts as Georgian-source even for a foreign employer, so salaries are taxed at 20%. Freelancers can use the 1% small business status instead.
