Healthcare
IPS covers employees only. Public hospitals are open to foreigners but stretched; most expats use a local prepaid plan (prepaga) or international insurance.

Residency routes
- Temporary residency (Anyone): No minimum income or deposit, but since July 2026 you must document real income (pension, foreign employment, business). Fee ₲2,926,925.
- Permanent residency (After two years of temporary residency): Apply in months 21–24 with the same kind of solvency proof. Valid ten years.
Tax on a portfolio
- Territorial: only Paraguayan-source income is taxed, so a portfolio held with a foreign broker pays nothing.
- Personal expenses backed by invoices are deductible from IRP, often lowering it a lot. That is not modeled.
- Paraguayan-source capital gains and investment income are taxed at 8%.
