Healthcare

Most residents join a mutualista, a private non-profit health provider, paying a monthly fee plus small co-payments.

• Mutualista membership: $70–$150 a month

Residency routes

• Legal residency (Anyone): No legal minimum; in practice about US$1,500 a month of stable income, certified by a Uruguayan notary. Permanent residence from the start.
• Digital nomad permit (Remote workers): No income minimum. 180 days, renewable once.

Tax on a portfolio

• Contributions reduce IRPF by 14% of their amount for incomes up to 15 BPC a month, else 8%.
• FONASA is higher with a spouse or children (up to 8%).
